Description of problem: To use a encrypted partition it asks for the key, user gives it, * but nothing seem to happen * -until very long after, when a tab for the LVM in my case discretely appears.(using encrypted lvm) (10 + second sin my case i think, possibly worse for some users) I think a user may not know such wait is needed, and may think it did not work, and try something else.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

@anyone This is an *old* report. Please review whether this needs to remain open, since nothing has happened under it for nearly 2 years, I think. Alternatively, please close a.s.a.p. as resolved -> old. Thanks.

This bug is still valid. In some configurations, LUKS can take some time to unlock a encrypted partition. This is a measure against brute force but a inexperienced and impatient user may think the installer has frozen.

Still valid mga6dev1 DVD iso - The install referenced in Bug 18284. I do not know *how* long it took; after half a minute i went for lunch... I suggest an explaining text being added in the dialog where the key is entered. "Unlocking may take many seconds, please be patient" Or even better make it go quick. - Why does it not go as quick as it do to unlock it during normal boot on an installed system?
