Description fabien henon 2012-05-12 22:26:53 CEST
Description of problem:
I have windows 7 and Mint 12 installed on my netbook.

After the install and a restart, grub only shows Mageia entry.

How do force grub 0.97 to detect the other OSes (as in os-prober with grub 2 )?

Maybe it is the time to switch to grub 2 ? :)

sda7 (Mint)

Hi fabien,

Are the other OS'es on a Grub 2 bootloader? If so, please have a look at http://docteam.mageia.nl/fr/installer/content/setupBootloaderBeginner.html as then this is a know incompatibility between Grub 2 and our grub. The document referred to above also should contain a few pointers to workarounds.

and for windows it will check the label iirc (but really not sure)

Hi Remco,
Yes they are. Thanks for the link

Hi fabien, thanks for the report. As this is a known issue, also described in the errata, see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_2_Errata , I'll close this report.

(Note: the WONTFIX is not meant as negative as it might sound)
