Description Olivier Delaune 2012-05-10 14:18:09 CEST
Hello, good you package cpulimit. It is a simple program which attempts to limit the cpu usage of a process. Package already exists on Mandriva (http://svn.mandriva.com/viewvc/packages/updates/2010.1/cpulimit/).
Thanks in advance.

No release since 2006... I think this package don't have to be imported. :-/
Don't you know an other one doing the same thing?

The last modifications have been done 20 months ago: http://cpulimit.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/cpulimit/trunk/
I do not know a similar software. Why do you think we should not import this package? I installed it from sources and it works very well.

Advisory:
-------------
The package cpulimit is available in Mandriva 2010.x but was missing in Mageia
1 and Mageia 2 (so upgrades were broken). This update fixes this issue by
providing cpulimi to Mageia distribution.

Packages:
-------------
cpulimit-1.2-0.git20120716.1.mga1
cpulimit-1.2-0.git20120716.1.mga2

How to test:
-------------
- Just try cpulimit to check it works.

Testing done on Mageia 2 64-bits. It works fine here.
Comment 6 claire robinson 2012-07-17 15:29:54 CEST
Testing complete Mageia 1 x86_64

$ cpulimit -l <1-200%> -p <process number>
$ cpulimit -l <1-200%> <command>

Both ways seem OK. Adding mga2-64-OK too as Olivier tested in comment 5.

Testing complete on Mageia 1 i586.

I'll test Mageia 2 i586 shortly.

Testing complete on Mageia 2 i586.

Could someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm
cpulimit-1.2-0.git20120716.1.mga2.src.rpm
from Mageia 2 Core Updates Testing to Core Updates and the srpm
cpulimit-1.2-0.git20120716.1.mga1.src.rpm
from Mageia 1 Core Updates Testing to Core Updates.

This update adds cpulimit, a CPU Usage Limiter, that was present
in Mandriva 2010.2, but Missing from Mageia.
