Description of problem:
I recently installed a k9copy package from plf for 2010.1 (k9copy-2.3.5-1plf2010.1).  task-obsolete removed the package and kept it from reinstalling.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):


How reproducible:


Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install rpm from outside of Mageia repos.
2.Install task-obsolete when offered by software-update.
3.Find outside package removed and blocked from reinstallation.



I'm concerned that packages no longer supported by Mageia might be blocked entirely from installation at all.  Suppose the web browser Opera couldn't be maintained.  That would be fine, since the rpms from opera.com work fine (always have).  If opera were on the task-obsolete list, would I then be blocked from installing the rpm from opera.com?  Also, I don't want task-obsolete as an update for this reason.

p.s. I'm not asking that support be added back.  A list of "no longer supported" at the wiki would work, wouldn't it?

Without task-obsolete I can install k9copy.  I also built Backlite (similar package from same author) from source (k9copy couldn't build - no xine-ui.h available).  My copy needs are covered.  I'm just worried about the option to install rpms from outside of the repos.

Boklm, there is maybe a way to have a skip list somewhere ?

Yes, adding task-obsolete to /etc/urpmi/skip.list and removing task-obsolete should fix this problem.

This works for me.  I'd forgotten about skip.list.  My apologies.
