I can reproduce this on 5c0d089bdebeff8e2396ec0edba1dfce Mageia-2-rc-dual-CD.iso. Tested on single core 64bit amd, with 2 hd's. installation uses the whole of second hd. encrypted /,-- /home and /boot not encrypted. Installer asked for key during partitioning,but I'm not being asked for partition's p/word during boot, (tried twice) The shel does not respond to "reboot" command, or su, su-. keyboard "alt, ctrl del worked!

@John if you can do another test easily, can you see: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5730#c7 The test can be done with current isos with the small manual tweak as mentioned there.
RC is out. Please test again.
I tried with the new spin of the cd: md5 9d788937f8c1c05dd95d9724cb85ac59, this time remembering to encrypt both / and /home. The first try failed with the same error msg's. The second time i tried the change to tty2 and mount command suggested here: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5730#c7. It failed with similar error messages, but with some usb warnings. I don't think they have any thing to do with this prob.: 6.018023 usb 1-3: Device descriptor read /64, error -62 and 6 more warnings to do with usb. I can add them to report if needed Dracut warning: Unable to process initque Dracut warning: "dev/mapper/cryp_sdb7" Does not exist Dropping to debug shell. The out put was written down and retyped into a different pc so may contain errors!
I have just hit this again on the fa20a1673f8cb1f691e7c500d46335c9 Mageia-2-dual-CD.iso. Will do further tests later.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

Will do further tests later. @ Herbert @ John Bowden Please tell whether this bug is still valid for MGA 2 final If it isn't, please close as FIXED If it is, please put (MGA2) on the whiteboard (not the standard string, because this is an installer bug)

Seems still current.
Summary: Mageia 2 rc dual ISO install fails with encrypted root => Mageia 2 install fails with encrypted root
Whiteboard: (none) => MGA2TOO
s/MGA2TOO/(MGA2)/ because this is an installer bug It'll never be fixed for Mageia2. However, it is good to be able to filter out the installer bugs that were confirmed for Mageia2, hence (MGA2)

Being realistic, this is an old bug that won't get any love. I hope it works in mga3 :)
