Description of problem: after "Entering step `Configure X`, installer writes the following error: "error: Too many levels of recursion in macro expansion. It is likely caused by recursive macro declaration." Beside this warning, "configure X" seems working as expected as I have mon xorg.conf created. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): drakx-installer-stage2-14.17-3.mga2 How reproducible: Each time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install a Mageai Cauldron (with auto_inst in text mode for my part) 2. Check log while doing "Configure X"
This is not an installer issue but a bug with some package.

What kind of information can I provide to help to understand "what's wrong"? I don't have anything about this in my /root/drakx/* files.
Thank you for reporting this. I have seen this too, during "configure X" during installation and not when run in installed system. https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4449#c10

In fact, now, with the same auto_inst, this error is in 'Users' step. No longuer in 'Configure X', so may come from installer, not X tools.
Feels like some problem waiting to happen. Is there something we can do to track it down?
Summary: Error in 'Configure X' step of the installer => During install, Too many levels of recursion in macro expansion

Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja
2 months later, no reply, closing as old. Please reopen when it is still valid for installing Mageia 2 final. In that case, put (MGA2) on the whiteboard
