I cannot see kmess-2.0.6.2 in repos. Which did you add?
Using kmess from kmess-2.0.6.2-1.mga1.src.rpm, When I first added a hotmail account, and then tried to connect, it crashed. I then installed kmess-debug, but haven't been able to recreate the crash yet. It logs in to the account, displays getting contact list, but then disconnects with a notification "Network connection lost".

(In reply to comment #3) > I cannot see kmess-2.0.6.2 in repos. Which did you add? it's in core updates testing https://wiki.mageia.org/en/QA_process_for_validating_updates
Okay I updated. Working done. Thanks.
I'm getting 126.707> kmess(14613) MsnNotificationConnection::slotError: MSN Notification Connection error type 4 : "The remote host closed the connection" A search on that leads to http://kmess.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4585&start=15 which I gather is the bug this update is supposed to be fixing.
Well, the original problem was that after successful login the contact list stayed empty, or showed no contacts. This is fixed for the reporter. Also the forum thread you quoted states: "the fix is in git as of commit dcfbfda" - but gitorious isn't currently displaying correctly here, so i can't take a look :(

Apologies, seems it should have gone to Funda (comment 1), I saw your involvement in comment 8. No real need to assign to bugsquad I'm sure. Assigning Funda, could you please look at comment 7. Please reassign to QA when you've had a chance to take a look Thanks!

This update candidate is still waiting for an answer regarding comment #7
Just tried kmess again, and comment 7 is still valid making the package unusable for me.
This message is a reminder that Mageia 1 is nearing its end of life. In approximately 25 days from now, Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 1. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '1'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 1's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 1 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- Mageia Bugsquad
Mageia 1 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''1st December''. Mageia 1 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.
