Description of problem: Normal boot is full OK. But in safe boot it asks an extra time for encryption key It asks for encryption key for /dev/sdasomething Then it proceeds, "welcome to Mageia" etc, shifts to high resoluiton.. and then asks password for the "disk" Hint: it now asks for "disk HTS7210blabla.. (crypt_sda6)" __disk layout ext4 /boot LVM: /, swap LVM on luks: /homencr
iirc there was some fix after the beta3 related to lvm & luks, can you try with an netinstall ?

Sorry, no, can not. The ethernet NIC is toast, and so is boot.iso and boot-nonfree.iso support for both the wifi-card bug 5475 and my PC-card ethernet module bug 5476. Besides, I do not have a spare disk, and need this machine working this week. -This disk content i cloned from similar laptops drive (also running cauldron), then added encrypted LVM afterwards using mcc. The interesting thing is that in normal boot it only asks once. I guess it may be related to bug 5477 where the system now and then asks for password even when it is already decrypted and used. - It is the same machine, and I have only seen either bug on this one.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja
