I'm testing the Mageia 2 Beta 3 KDE4 LiveCD. Upon booting into the Live system, whether I select to shutdown or restart the system, the screen becomes black/blank after time countdown, and then no further message can be seen on the screen and the system doesn't really shutdown/restart. I can't tell what happens or what to do. Till I accidentally press the Enter key, the system finally continues to shutdown/restart. BTW, after installing the system to HDD, the problem no longer exists.
Can you provide a screenshot ?
Same problem for me. After having tested the LiveCD as a live CD, when I shutdown everything goes well until the background image (boiling cauldron) is displayed and the livecd ejected. I supposed that as usual we need to press the Enter key ... and then the system completely stopped. Only need to add a message asking to press the Enter key after having removed the CD

seems a duplixate of bug 1966
Hi Manuel ! No it's not a duplicate of bug 1966 Bug 1966 is about a problem appearing after having installed from a livecd (it seems that, for one user, the system hangs after the message asking to remove the media and press the Enter key) This bug (5552) is about using the livecd as a livecd When we shutdown from the menu, all is halted, the media is ejected (OK) but the monitor displays the background with the boiling cauldron... waiting until we push the Enter key the system stops totally But we must know that we must press the Enter key !!! Just need a message to tell the user to do this .... The title of this bug may be not clear maybe this [2b3] Shutdown/Restart of LiveCD : no message asking user to press Enter key (and to remove the CD)
sorry for the typo I meant This bug (5552) is about using the livecd as a livecd When we shutdown from the menu, all is halted, the media is ejected (OK) but the monitor displays the background with the boiling cauldron... waiting until we push the Enter key TO ORDER the system to stop totally
(In reply to comment #1) > Can you provide a screenshot ? There is no way to take screenshots because the system is already shutdowning/restarting (I can't use KSnapshot). But I can try to take some photos using my camera. However, as I said, the screen is wholly black after time countdown, so what I can take are a photo for the time countdown and another for the whole black screen. And I notice a little difference between my and Philippe's situations: my last screen is wholly black, but Philippe's is the background with the boiling cauldron (from comment #4).

BTW, my situation is even worse. Because I use dd command to make a LiveUsbDisk from the LiveCD iso. When the system is shutdowning/restarting and the screen goes black, I can't see the media ejected. All that I can observe is that a pilot light on my adsl modem goes off and then becomes on again.
so seems that there is again some issue with the script inside draklive
