Description of problem: After using the media centre to download and install it's package lists (OK) I tried to download and install the X86_64 version of Geany, (my favorite editor), it said there were dependancies and I said Ok however it asked me to change medium, Please insert the medium named "Core Media",and wouldn't go further so I closed that box, then splash box behind said there was a problem during the installation; medium:"Core Media" is not available. So I tried the missing autologin package to check that networking was ok and after installing a meta-task dependancy online, that installed OK so it wasn't the network. I logged out and rebooted and tried again twice with the same result each time Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Geany X86_64 How reproducible: By me, each time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. login, MCC install software 2. setup Media centre updates from aarnet 3. select and install package Notes: this box is the only one with internet access so I can't check that it's ok in a i586 mode without blowing the X86_64 away, however looking at the packagelisted webdirectory via the browser it seems to be dealing with the correct package.
You didn't inserted your CD as requested, did you?

The only one I had was my Dual CD, tried that at the time, but it ignored that and wanted another called "Core Media". If that's what you mean. I've also since tried in the config of the mcc to set it to download with curl and wget and nothing happened either, in case that should be needed to have preset, but just got the same errors.
Just gone through it all again with the same result, inserting the dual CD does nothing.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

under test this weekend when I have a working mageia 2 up and running. I shall update then. regards scsijon
yup, sorry for delay, I just plain forgot about this one, it's still with mageia 2 latest download iso, changing version to mageia 2, wondering if it's a label thing in the cd burn as it comes up showing as 'Mageia-2', not 'Mageia-2-dual-CD', or am I suppose to do that when burning?
Version: Cauldron => 2
well if you don't want to use dvd/cd disable the first entry of your media (and geany is not in this media)
Manuel, Already had done that and got what I wanted from download, however the strange thing is that's still where it's looking for it. Even after downloading new package lists! However that has not addressed the issue of the labels being different, which I believe is of more importance. regards
@Thierry : Can you look into this ? Roelof

This message is a reminder that Mageia 2 is nearing its end of life. Approximately one month from now Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 2. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '2'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 2's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 2 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- The Mageia Bugsquad
Mageia 2 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''22 November''. Mageia 2 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia and reopen this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. -- The Mageia Bugsquad
