Hi, I can reproduce the problem with gnome classic ; with other dm (lxde and kde), the wallpaper plugin does nothing. I'm not sure it's really a bug, the background is managed by a specific tool in each desktop environment and the wallpaper plugin "conflict" with this tool. So in good case, it does nothing and in bad case, it mess with the rendering.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

Hi, I'm in the process of upgrading compiz to 0.9.8 on cauldron and in this version wallpaper is disabled by default. So for cauldron, this bug will not be relevant anymore in a not too distant future :D. For Mga2, since I can't fix the problem, I wonder if I shouldn't do the same and push an update without wallpaper. WDYT ?

compiz 0.9.8.0 has hit cauldron and the wallpaper plugin is disabled in it. After some tought, I don't think it's a good idea to remove a functionality (even if buggy) in an already released distro. So I close this bug as WONTFIX.
