Description of problem:
[root@vmag ~]# /etc/init.d/lighttpd start
Lancement de lighttpd : 2011-03-24 23:59:44: (configfile.c.958) opening configfile  /etc/lighttpd/modules.conf failed: No such file or directory 
2011-03-24 23:59:44: (configfile.c.912) source: /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf line: 88 pos: 12 parser failed somehow near here: (EOL) 
                                                               [ÃCHEC ]
[root@vmag ~]# 

It is just lighttpd.conf in /etc/lighttpd/ nothing else.

looks like here: http://iris.appert44.org/wikiiris/index.php/Serveur_lighttpd_simon#Configuration

so add: conf.d, vhost.d and modules.conf.

Please try with new lighttpd rpm (1.4.28-6)
