Description Andrew 2012-04-11 08:13:19 CEST
Description of problem:

When using b43-openfwwf for my Broadcom 4311 Wireless (Wi-Fi) Network Adapter (PCI-E), signal strength is unstable and speed varies between 1mbps to 11mbps as opposed to openSUSE's packman repo's "b43-firmware" non-free rpm which can achieve a constant 100% signal strength and full 54Mbps speed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Mageia 2 Cauldron Beta 2

How reproducible:

Install b43-openfwwf while using a laptop with a Broadcom 4311 Wireless Network Adapter

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install b43-openfwwf
2. Restart Mageia to make changes take effect
3. Go to Network Settings to confirm failing speed and signal strength
