Yes, it works yet after copying the ucode in libfirmware, from: http://intellinuxwireless.org/iwlwifi/downloads/iwlwifi-6000g2b-ucode-18.168.6.1.tgz wlan0 is created There is some other problems. - the configuration with MCC ended with a message that the tests were not concluant. But the interface can be activated with networkmanager (in Gnome) by selecting the network. - if the interface is switched off, it can not be switched on after that, except from Windows. OK, seems we have not the last version. Tmb, maybe we can update these iwlwifi-* packages ? For the other problems, one bug is already open for the wrong test, and I guess the other is more upstream.

We have the latest ucode: iwlwifi-6030-ucode since a couple of months in Nonfree Name : iwlwifi-6030-ucode Relocations: (not relocatable) Version : 18.168.6.1 Vendor: Mageia.Org Release : 1.mga2.nonfree Build Date: Wed Jan 25 21:02:17 2012 Install Date: (not installed) Build Host: jonund Group : System/Kernel and hardware Source RPM: (none) Size : 553990 License: Proprietary Signature : (none) Packager : tmb <tmb> URL : http://intellinuxwireless.org/ Summary : Intel PRO/Wireless 6030AGN microcode
Ok, How the user can use it? Is it installed directly if the repo non-free is activated?
>We have the latest ucode: iwlwifi-6030-ucode since a couple of months in >Nonfree Arf I was thinking, the 6000 and the 6030 are not the same. (In reply to comment #8) > Ok, > How the user can use it? Is it installed directly if the repo non-free is > activated? Yes it should, does it works ?
Yes, the driver is present in
Source RPM: iwlwifi-6000-ucode => iwlwifi-6000-ucode drakconnect iwlwifi-6030-ucode
closing then, since it seems working great

I wouldn't close it. I saw similar problem with my friends computer. With older Intel cards drak* tools install needed firmware. With some new hardware that doesn't seem to happen. AFAIK even enabling all repos didn't make it detect the needed firmware.

I confirm that there is still a problem that drakconnect does not find or install the good driver, even if non-free repo is activated. Yves

After an update of draknet, Axone said that the messsage it get has changed, but the driver is not found, After selecting the interface wlan0: Erreur Certains paquetages (iwlwifi-wifi-ucode) sont nécessaires mais ne sont pas disponibles. It seems: Some packages are necessary, but not available. These package are available in Mageia or in repo non-free. The component is missing: /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-5000-5.ucode This component is not the one which is expected to work.
