Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

I tested on another machine with Mageia 2. The time to start is about 30s.
It uses 100% CPU during the start, an about 100% after that, on Athlon II X3.
So cheese works, but very badly.

No webcam, and cannot reproduce. Removed myself as maintainer.

I have no webcam here but cheese starts instantly. Is this problem also valid in Mageia 3? Do you have several different webcams to do the test? What if you start cheese without any webcam plugged?

Hi Stormi,
Thanks for reviewing bugs ;)
I tried without webcam. I get "Aucun périphérique détecté" (No device detected).
With another webcam, it starts immediately.

In Mageia 3 (Cheese version installed today):
Cheese starts immediately, and then displays the image from webcam after 2 or 3 seconds. This is good.
The other webcam is a little more speed.

I think this bug will be very hard to hunt down (related to specific hardware apparently). Since it doesn't prevent to use the software in Mageia 2, and since it works in Mageia 3, the chances to have someone solve it in Mageia 2 are very very small.

Do you mind if I close it?
