Description of problem: Unable to configure computer name / hostname and domain name in installer if not connected to a network at time of installation. Unable to find anywhere within the GUI of doing so afterwards. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Cauldron Beta 2 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Perform installation offline
You can do it in the resume step (like in in drakconf) but indeed it's not user-friendly.

Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

Bug still present in Mageia 3 Cauldron... looks like no one got around to it. How depressing
Maybe I don't understand your problem correctly, but drakconnect (MCC Add/Edit Network Interface) has a panel that displays the default hostname chosen (localhost.localdomain) and allows you to change it, or indicate that you want DHCP to accept a hostname provided by the DHCP server or generate a unique one from the assigned IP address. It's true, we don't put a panel up asking you to name your computer, but technically that would conflict with the fact that in most companies hostnames are set through DHCP, and are tied to whatever network interface interacts with the DHCP server. If you had a universal setting, the drakconnect dialog would still override it (as will NetworkManager), and we'd get a flood of complaints saying "I set my hostname to XYZ and something changed it".

Since nothing is happening, and as ftg@roadrunner.com described how there isn't any real need for what you ask. So I am going to be presumptuous and close as wontfix, as my guess is otherwise this will stay open for years unattended. Sorry! And drakhost in MCC or called by itself can do afterward what you dud jot find. If anybody disagrees, shoot me and reopen.
