Lspci output is useless for us.
What's the output of "lspcidrake -v"?
(Please attach it instead of pasting it like for lspci)

I guess your Wifi card is the PCI RaLink RT2500 802.11g that is seen by lspci but not by lspcidrake?
This look odds as lspcidrake uses the same libpci as used by lspci.
Are you sure you didn't disabled the wifi through a button between the lspci run & the lspcidrake run?
Comment 4 Laurent BRETON 2012-03-26 11:58:57 CEST
Sorry, my first post was unclear: in Mageia 2 beta 2, my Wifi card is not listed by lspci or lspcidrake.
The lspci output I provided in my first post was under Mageia 1.

I can provide the lspcidrake output under Mageia 1, if useful.

Can you attache the strace_pci1.txt resulting from the following command?
strace -e file lspci 2>strace_pci1.txt

(for both mga1 & mga2)

You have no /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:03:00.0/ with mga2?
Can you also attach the pci.txt file resulting from "cat /proc/bus/pci/devices
> pci.txt" for both mga1 & mga2?

Testing openSUSE 12.2 Milestone 2 : openSUSE-KDE-LiveCD-Build0258-i686.iso
It seems to work: LEds on the wifi card light at boot time, and lspci output shows the rt2500 chip.
(I says "seems" because the KDE desktop is very instable and returns to kdm loging frequently)

Opensuse Kernel: 3.3.0-rc6

After installation of Mageia 2 beta 3 i586 live KDE, same problem.
I noticed a message at boot time:

yenta_cardbus 0000:02:06.0: no bus associated! (try 'pci=assign-busses')

Hope this helps...
Comment 17 Thomas Backlund 2012-04-20 19:34:05 CEST
did you try to boot with "pci=assign-busses" ?
Comment 18 Laurent BRETON 2012-04-20 21:01:05 CEST
Yes. Black screen at boot and freeze...

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja
