Description of problem:I really miss having the opportunity to compile & build straight away from a fresh installation if you choose DEV-packs in the second step of the installer. The time you'd have to spend looking for dev-packs is a time where you just know that they ARE installed & then just compile & build without major errors. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start computer. 2. Boot the installation-iso. 3. Get to the Partitioning-step & check box for Development along with the other choices.

We already have space problems, now you want us to do what? Bloat installs? Please think before submitting such wishes.

Space-problems? I'm not talking about the disk. And this is meant when you use the boot.iso to install.
Including the dev packages with the Development checkbox would probably be a rude surprise for folks that aren't expecting it. But there's no reason you can't request a new checkbox for all the dev packages that isn't checked by default. Done right, this would be greyed out (disabled) if installing from a DVD since most of the packages wouldn't be available. Also, it would make more sense (but probably require a new model) if it only installed dev packages whose corresponding base packages were being installed.

This might be able to build on the same model used for language support. I *think* (but I'm not sure) that we record your multi-language choices so that later when we install packages with multi-language support we install the correct set of language packages a the same time. This could work the same way, so that in later installs of a base package you automatically get the dev package as well. Since this would only be available on the "Custom" panel, it would be targeted to advanced users. Come to that, developers/debuggers could probably use a similar option for insalling debug packages automatically.
