Description Barry Jackson 2012-03-18 20:26:18 CET
Description of problem:
I have been using gnote for years and it has recently broken in cauldron installed from Beta2 DVD (full KDE)
I can search for notes and find them, but not edit nor copy/paste from them.
Mouse actions are either ignored or cause screen corruption.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnote-0.8.2-1.mga2

How reproducible:
I have been noticing this for a few days in different installations of Cauldron.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install gnote
2. Open an existing note and attempt to select some text to copy using the mouse.
3. Give up ;)

There are no error messages when starting from terminal.

Would you want to try another theme? I think this is due to we are using oxygen theme.

could you post the version of oxygen-gtk2 you are using (assuming you are using oxygen-gtk as a theme) ?
Comment 4 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2012-03-19 17:14:46 CET
mmm. Its a gtk3 app now. Right ?
Can you post the version of oxygen-gtk3, then ?
And gtk3 ?
(there are *tons* of issues with oxygen-gtk3 and latest releases of gtk3.3, most of them being regressions with using latests gtk3.3, sadly enough)
Comment 5 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2012-03-19 17:15:57 CET
... with gnote-0.8.2 I can reproduce :(
not with gnote-0.7.x which is still a gtk2 app.

Sorry for my lack of response previously - for some reason I was not in cc despite originating the bug.
My Cauldron installations are broken ATM due to graphics issues, but IIRC I did try various themes, (Plastik and Tabbed IIRC) and they did not resolve it.
Glad you can reproduce. I will try to get a system up again for further testing.

I used chroot to access the system that I was using :-
[root@jackodesktop /]# rpm -qa | grep -E "oxygen-gtk3|gnote"
lib64oxygen-gtk3-1.0.2-1.mga2
gnote-0.8.2-1.mga2
oxygen-gtk3-1.0.2-1.mga2

@ Funda

I notice you bumped svn to 0.9.0.

Note this is from gnote ML :-

Gnote 0.9.0 have been released!
WARNING: this is unstable development release, DO NOT use it in
production environment!
Comment 9 Barry Jackson 2012-03-26 23:59:03 CEST
This appears to be fixed with :-
oxygen-gtk3-1.0.2-2.mga2

Excellent - thanks!
Comment 10 Funda Wang 2012-03-27 01:02:34 CEST
