Description brian saunderson 2011-03-22 20:38:28 CET
Description of problem:
Printing is cut off 11 inches from top of page when printing A3 test page on HP
officeJet K7100.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mageia alpha 2

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install HP K7100 printer using the mageia control centre
2. set printer option page size to A3
3. print test page
4. page is printed at the correct width, but length of printing is cut
short at 11 inches. rest of test page is missing.

NB this problem exists with mandriva 2010.2 also.
works with mandriva 2010.0 so long as backports are not applied.

Great if it could be fixed in mageia...

CUPS 1.4.3 with hpcups 3.10.2rc1.9 does not exhibit this behavior.
It does introduce another problem to do with printer management in that no username/password is requested (and no action is taken) when attempting to
modify printer settings etc. form the CUPS web page (127.0.0.1:631). A workaround
for this is to https://192.168.2.2:631 and agree an exception when the browser
reports an invalid certificate. (replace 192.168.2.2 with address of your machine
or use the hostname of the machine).

Hello sorry for the bug delay. :/

I guess this bug is still valid ?

If yes can you paste the files /etc/cups/printers.conf and
/var/log/cups/error_log

Just done clean install of mageia one. Tried OfficeJet K7100 printer test page.
A3 printing is now OK, perhaps more recent hpcups 3.11.7 has fixed this?
(was 3.11.1.19)
