extract from /log/messages when usb reconnected

Printer does not receive a job when sent to it.

Printer disconnected, both power and usb. When reconnected messages indicates that there is no CUPS device. (see attachment)

Could you please unplug your printer, open a terminal, and as root do:
tailf /var7log/messages
then plugin the printer, and post the output here.

Also please attach /var/log/cups/error_log and /etc/cups/printers.conf

/etc/cups/printers.conf does not exist

This means the printer has not been setup yet, or not properly. I may have to take a look again how the brother proprietary drivers setup the printer, as my parents use one, but i think this should definitely exist or cups won't know about this printer.

So for reference, you installed the brother drivers for this one, available at http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/download_prn.html#DCP-J125 ?

Please show the output of
rpm -qa | grep dcpj125

Also, for the messages log, seems you plugged the offline printer? Sorry for not being more precise, but you need the printer to be switched on for that, otherwise the computer won't recognize anything. Please do this again (and sorry for any inconveniences this might have caused) and attach the resulting log.

Please also post the output (as root) of
service cups status
and
service cups restart
