How reproducible:


Steps to Reproduce:

in vbox
ask for installing "additions"
then
kde notifier notifies vbox additions CD is available
then
select "vbox additions"
then
select "open with file manager" (dolphin)
then
you have an error message "unable to mount peripheral : vbox additions"

in dolphin
select "vbox additions" CD
then
you have the error :

Une erreur est survenue en accédant à « VBOXADDITIONS_4.1.8_75467 ».
Message reçu :
L'opération requise a échoué.(requeted operation failed):
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1:
helper failed with:
mount?: le point de montage /media/cdrom n'existe pas (mount point /media/cdrom does not exist)

then
i can't install vbox additions then i can't access to usb device

you can reproduce with a direct access to your dvd lecteur ?

BTW: you can install virtualbox-guest-addition

vbox additions cd is just a virtual cd.

when you select "install guest additions" in vbox menu
then
vbox simulates the insertion of a cd containing vbox guest additions

mageia 2 rc

test with a real pc

i insert an audio cd
then
there is a kde notification
then
in the notification i can choose an app to use the audio cd for example kscd or dolphin and it works

but
i can eject the cd with dolphin but not with icon in the notification
the notification offers to mount the cd but not to eject it

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.
