Description of problem: Hello. The notification daemon always shows black notifications (in LXDE). That might be related to the theme configuration (Inverse black and white while one of the colors is accidentaly hardcoded/fixed). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.7.3-1.mga2 How reproducible: always

Saw the same thing on my VirtualBox 64 bit guest. Since default boot is run level 3, I logged out of kde, /bin/rm -r ~.kde4/share/*, logged out/in again and problem went away.

Hello, what is your gtk theme ? can be related to https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=1571
wich is related to https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4544 sorry
(In reply to comment #3) > Hello, what is your gtk theme ? If you were to use the [reply] link we would know who you are talking to. If you were talking to me, it was the kde default, which I think is Oxygen. I can not check because last round out updated causes my VM Guest to abort when the startx is almost competed writing that last icon shown in the Desktop Manager init sequence. :(
Hi Manuel. I temporarilly switched to LXDE because my XFCE is broken at the moment and thus I haven't changed anything in the LXDE yet -> I believe I have the LXDE's default GTK theme. I just know, that it differs from the Xfce's one I was using before switching to LXDE. My current LXDE's GTK theme looks more like one of the KDE themes :D There's a transition from lightblue to white? on background of the widgets, but I'll definitely tell you once I'm back from the office (=in the evening). J.
Btw. I believe Manuel wanted to ask both of us ... that's why he didn't use the [reply] link :) Right? J.

Ok ... my theme was oxygen-gtk ... I somehow managed lxappearance to avoid crashing by changing the theme to Ia Ora themes first and then it was possible to change it to any theme without SIGSEGVs. Anyway ... the notification panel is still black :)
The theme used for the original screenshot (https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=1581) is not oxygen. Look at the square button at the bottom. Thats some default gtk theme (likely raleigh or equivalent).

Created attachment 1642 [details] pavucontrol with GTK2 theme Like I commented to bug 4544, I'm seeing similar problems with pavucontrol in XFCE if I'm using GTK2 only theme (e.g. adwaita-gtk2-theme). But if I install GTK3 one (e.g. adwaita-gtk3-theme), pavucontrol looks fine and OK.

So, I guess things would look OK if used theme supports both GTK2 and GTK3.
<bkor> notification thing can do special things, so not sure <bkor> lately, some applications activate a dark theme <bkor> mainly media related stuff (looks nicer or something) <bkor> I'm guessing Oxygen doesn't understand that <bkor> just guessing though

Thats some default gtk theme (likely > raleigh or equivalent). Yes, You're right. It doesn't look like oxygen, but other applications look like they're using oxygen. I believe it's somehow related to mix of GTK3 and GTK2 themes (maybe each application linked against different version of GTK??? Just guessing). It might be related to the ongoing process of migration to GTK3. Eye of Gnome (eog) has also "no theme" (looking like raleigh).
I forgot to mention, that the "raleigh" looking apps are ignoring any tries to change the theme using either lxappearance (LXDE) or xfce4-appearance-settings (XFCE) whilst the other apps are changing the theme immediately without any signs of problems ...

It seems that neither lxappearance, nor xfce4-appearance-settings, support GTK3 theme configuration and that's why all aps linked against GTK3 remain unthemed.

Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja
