Description Luis Menina 2012-02-05 16:58:58 CET
Description of problem:
My Clevo M1111 uses a Sentelic touchpad. It mostly works. However, it is recognized as a mouse, not a touchpad, which makes for example gnome-mouse-properties not show the touchpad-specific configuration options, especially the option that disables the touchpad while you type.

This problem is being worked out in the upstream kernel (see http://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=705366#c22 )
I'd like to make sure this makes it into Mageia 2.

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep "FingerSensingPad" | grep type
[ 19.031] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "FSPPS/2 Sentelic FingerSensingPad" (type: MOUSE)

You can see there that the type is MOUSE.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

Hi, I tested with Mageia 2 beta 3 and everything was fine, so I'm closing this. I'll reopen if I see a problem on the final release.

Result of uname -a:
Linux daisy 3.3.6-desktop-2.mga2 #1 SMP Thu May 17 16:25:59 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Comment 6 Luis Menina 2013-07-22 19:41:10 CEST
This bug is still valid on Mageia 3, even if a patch was integrated upstream 1.5 years ago:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=705366#c23

Please, can anyone give it a look?

Version: 2 => 3

Comment 7 Thomas Backlund 2013-07-22 20:30:10 CEST

Comment 9 Marja Van Waes 2015-03-31 16:03:25 CEST
Mageia 3 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status 4 months ago.
http://blog.mageia.org/en/2014/11/26/lets-say-goodbye-to-mageia-3/

Mageia 3 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia
and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
