Description Béat E 2012-02-04 19:50:43 CET
Description of problem:
I updated my laptop from mageia 1 to cauldron. Since then my wifi doesn't work anymore. When I try to set it up with drakconnect the connection fails.

How reproducible:
most of the time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I start drakconnect and choose to configure "Wireless (Wi-Fi)
2. I select the interface to configure: wlan0: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6205
3. I select my network and go through the other step without problems (default setting).
4. I choose to start the connection now. I get the following message

"Problems occurred during the network connectivity test.

This can be caused by invalid network configuration, or problems with your modem or router.

You might want to relaunch the configuration to verify the connection settings."

5. There is no working wifi connection

On a very few rare occasions (let's say at least 1 of 20 trials) I could get a working wifi connection. I have no idea why it worked then because I made the same steps as always. Anyway after a reboot even this working connection is lost. And I have to set wifi up again, normally without success.

This might be the same as Bug 4142.

Yep seems the same.

What's your chipset ? (lscpidrake -v)

Source RPM: (none) => drakx-net

Comment 2 Béat E 2012-02-06 23:23:05 CET
The command didn't work.

[root@localhost ~]# lscpidrake -v
-bash: lscpidrake: command not found

I looked for the chipset in the mageia control center. Here's what I found there:

Vendor: âIntel Corporation
Description: âQM67 Express Chipset Family LPC Controller
Media class: âISA bridge

Vendor: âIntel Corporation
Description: â6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 7
Media class: âPCI bridge

Vendor: âIntel Corporation
Description: â6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1
Media class: âCommunication controller

And this is the ethernetcard:
Vendor: âIntel Corporation
Description: âCentrino Advanced-N 6205
Media class: âNetwork controller

Is this the information you needed?
