Description episteme promeneur 2012-01-23 15:05:04 CET
Description of problem:

kmail count assistant create by default an imap count
it is a good thing for a laptop but for a desktop a pop count is better no?

the assistant does not offers the choice !

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1.in kamil launch the count assistant
2. fill the fields
3. click "next" then after the creation "terminate"

then go th kmail settings > count > receiving

you see 2 counts :
- "local folder"
- "Free telecom" (my isp mail)

then
select "Free telecom"
then
click "modify
then
in "general" tab you see an "imap server" field

addendum :

in kmail we see the folder tree of "local count" (inox, outbox, dustbin etc.)
but
there is no "Free telecom" (imap count) folder tree
Comment 1 episteme promeneur 2012-01-23 15:26:13 CET
you must uncheck in the first assistant window "search isp settings via internet" according the assistant offers the choice of protocols (pop3,imap etc.)

Source RPM: (none) => kmail

Comment 3 John Balcaen 2012-01-23 16:16:53 CET
If the bug is against the way the wizard work it should be done *upstream* (aka bugs.kde.org) & not on mageia's bugzilla.
Not to mention that you can manually configure as you said in your comment #1.

Regarding pop/imap choice from desktop/laptop there's *strictly* no reason to prefer imap over pop on a laptop and vice&versa on desktop.

Closing as wontfix
