Description of problem: If Firefox is opened by any other program, such as akregator, it crashes instantly if Firefox wasn't already open before (otherwise everything works fine and a new tab is opened with the requested link) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 9.0.1 How reproducible: see below Steps to Reproduce: 1. Close all open instances of Firefox 2. Open Akregator and right-click on any link, then select "open using an external browser" (assuming that Firefox is your standard browser) OR type "firefox -new-tab http://www.mageia.org" in a terminal and hit enter OR enter a URL in krunner and hit enter (assuming that Firefox is your standard browser) Expected result: Firefox starts and opens the requested webpage Actual result: Firefox crashes, prints "Speicherzugriffsfehler" (= segmentation fault) to console I couldn't find any bug reports upstream, despite version 9.0.1 being out for quite a while now, so I figured it might be a mageia-specific problem. Also, this used to work until some weeks ago. Unfortunately I can't tell exactly which update broke it. Also note that this problem does not exist in current cauldron, so it may not be related to Firefox at all. However, I didn't know what else I should assign it too, sorry about that.
Can't confirm that here. Using the example firefox -new-tab http://www.mageia.org works fine on my i586 Mageia 1 system.

Ok, I apologize for the noise. After reading your comment, I disabled all Firefox extensions and re-enabled them one by one. As it turned out, one of them (called "Binnen-I-Be-Gone") caused Firefox to crash on activation. Disabling it solved the problem, all of the above-mentioned use cases now work as they should. I didn't think of this before because I had been using all of my extensions for quite a while now and only recently, after a round of mageia updates, did the crashing start. Anyways, I can live without that extension and everything is working fine again. Thanks a lot for your help, and sorry for the noise!
