Up to now, Debian has always disabled the memory cgroup controller because it has significant overhead. I appears to be enabled in Mageia by default. I read on the #debian-kernel IRC channel that upstream merged some patches which reduces the overhead. You might want to include these patches in mageia, or disactivate the memory cgroup controller by default if it's not strictly needed (it can be enabled in Debian with the boot parameter cgroup_enable=memory : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=534964). 12:00 < maks> "The memory control group naturalization patches have been merged. These patches eliminate the double-tracking of memory and, thus, substantially reduce the overhead associated with the memory controller." https://lwn.net/Articles/443241/
Trying to ping 41 bug reports in one move, because nothing has happened with them for more than 3 months, they still have the status NEW or REOPENED, there is no "OK" on the Whiteboard and severity and priority are "normal" or higher. Is this one still valid for Mageia 2 rc? If it is and you're the assignee, please set status to ASSIGNED if you think this bug was assigned correctly. If for work flow reasons you can't do that, then please put OK on the whiteboard instead. If it wasn't assigned correctly, please assign back to Bug Squad and explain.
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja
