Seems a problem with my machine! On a second pc, the installation starts with the same DVD (KDE 64 bit).
Yesterday installation stopped (during texlive) Installtion (full KDE 64) with 8 GB usb stick failed, same as above. Here I used two exsiting partitions with an old mageia1 for / and /home. For the next try I deleted the partitions and started on one new partition. Now installation and reboot is ok!
So that was the partitions ?
Maybe, but I don't know. For my feeling (and its only a feeling) the installer has probs with old partitions. On my test pc I will change the hd, because there some installations also failed and a successful installation of a Mageia1 needs are very, very long time. I hope tommorrow in the evening

I think my description doesn't help. In the moment I have problems with the installation on several machines and I don't able to desvribe the problems. Some things hang during installation (finding partitions, mounting partitions) I will restart anf the write a bug with a "good" description.
