It seems that https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=57878 is rearing its ugly head again. In two successive fresh installs yesterday, the install stalled with about 3 minutes to go. Flipping to VC2 and doing a "ps" showed the same symptoms as in the earlier MDV bug, except that it was webapp and gconf-schema that were locking each other out. Killing the webkit process broke the deadlock, and the install completed normally. As the earlier bug was attributed to php-pear, perhaps the same problem fixed there now exists with gconf-schema. As with the earlier bug, this is timing-related. For some reason, it does not happen in a VBox install, just in a real one.
