D is a nice programming language which can be seen as a modern C or C++ language. It's not very hard to install the D compiler on Linux, but it requires to edit /etc/dmd.conf + some other minor tweaks which wouldn't be needed if the D compiler was available as a RPM. Note that D version 1 will be disÂconÂtinÂued in 12 months, so it only makes sense to offer D version 2, currently at version 2.056: http://www.d-programming-language.org/download.html As seen there, packages are already available for Fedora, Ubuntu and openSUSE.

dmd is not free software. Notably it is not redistributable and cannot be included in Mageia. Feel free to propose a package for Mageia to upstream if you want.
