I have the brother dcp-195c printer and after installed the drivers i open the printer settings and i clicked on Add printer. After that i am in a screen that suggests me to choose an Epson printer : "Epson (suggested)". Of course i choose the right one (brother) and the install finish normaly
Was this the first time you installed that printer? cc'ing our printing magician @ Florian Because I heard lots of stories about devices from different brands coming from the same factory and being clones, I tried to find out whether some brother and epson printers are clones, too, but I didn't find anything.

I know this because my parents own a DCP-195C, and to me an epson driver was never suggested. You're sure you installed the right driver? In which order did you install them? Otherwise there's nothing we can do about the drivers supplied by Brother. Closing this one. @Marja: Epson and Brother are definitely no clones. There are such things like Dell printers, which are Lexmark printers or have HP printing units, but the big brands like Brother, Canon, Epson and HP all make unique models.

If i delete the printer ( you are right it is recognized automatically the first time) after i try to install it and it recognized as epson: http://glenbox.free.fr/videos/brother%3Fepson.ogv 2.5MB Of course once i did this step there is no problem at all.
