With the kdiff3 there are some documentation files: [dglent@localhost HTML]$ pwd /home/dglent/kdiff3-0.9.95-4.mga1.x86_64/usr/share/doc/HTML [dglent@localhost HTML]$ ls et/ pt/ sv/ but there is no english version, so in my system the documentation is nt present. The available doc tanslations in the tarball of kdiff3 are: da/ en/ et/ it/ pt/ sv/ de/ es/ fr/ nl/
Hi, thanks for reporting this bug. As there is no maintainer for this package I added the committers in CC.

This should be fixed in Cauldron as we package kdiff3-0.9.96. Should I backport the package to Mageia 1?
(In reply to comment #2) > This should be fixed in Cauldron as we package kdiff3-0.9.96. Should I backport > the package to Mageia 1? @ dglent is this issue fixed for you in cauldron?

i dont have cauldron, i use Mageia 1
Just checked, in cauldron the english KDiff3 Handbook is accessible from within the KDE help centre btw, I didn't manage to open the .docbook index file by right clicking and choosing an application. The only way that worked for me was to go use the kickoff Application launcher and go to documentation - help (that started KDE help centre) - development - KDiff3 cc'ing Oliver Burger @ Oliver WDYT about Shlomi's suggestion in comment 2 (not for backports, but for updates)?

@Shlomi, Is it possible to release this as an update for kdiff3-0.9.95, that is, to release the package with only this fix in?

It is possible, but I'm not sure if such a bug warrants an update. I guess it's up to the higher levels to decide on that. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish

The way Remco proposed (by not updating to a newer version of kdiff, but by just dropping the fix in the kdiff version that is in Mageia 1 now), is perfectly in line with our updates policy https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Updates_policy

Well, I didn't backport the fix, because I didn't know what in the diff to the SPEC file changed it, and it's possible the fix was in the source tarball itself (not sure). So what I did was submit the new and upgraded package instead. I hope it's still OK. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish

So what I did was submit the new and upgraded package > instead. I hope it's still OK. > Well, I just looked at the release notes and the changelog of kdiff3-0.9.96 http://kdiff3.sourceforge.net/ChangeLog http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=28037303 The only new "feature" in kdiff3-0.9.96 mentioned, is that more languages are supported, but to me that is a bug fix, too. I understand all the rest of the quite long list are ordinary bug fixes and maintenance bug fixes. So in my eyes, this is a bug fix only release, which can be pushed according to https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Updates_policy#Version_Policy @ Oliver @ Remco Do you agree that this is a bugfix only release?
