New install of Mageia 2 Alpha 1 that includes awstats-7.0-1.mga1.noarch.rpm is successful. Execution of /etc/cron.daily/awstats successfully updates the awstats db and traffic logged in: /var/log/httpd/access_log is displayed in a report using http://localhost/awstats in your browser. I've made a couple of new installs to confirm that awstats is properly installed and working. Latest update of Mageia 2 Alpha 1 involves almost 400 files and after that update awstats no longer monitors updates to /var/log/httpd/access_log. I'll check to see if awstats is back working again after Mageia 2 Alpha 2 is released. For some reason I don't think this is a problem with awstats as there have been no changes to that since Feb 2011. I suspect this is a perl thing, not an awstats thing.
Todays updates, which included at least one perl library file, has seemed to correct this problem. I'll continue to monitor this through the Mageia 2 Cauldron process.
Dmorgan, any ideas ?

Awstats looks to be working just fine in Mageia 2 Alpha 2 32-bit in Vbox. Install from DVD iso.
