Description of problem: I installed libreoffice-langpack-fr thinking it would install every-thing and I finished with a non working software (no writer, calc... installed, so nothing can be done with libreoffice :\ ) I have the habit of installing language package to be sure to have it and usualy it brings the whole software. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): libreoffice-langpack-fr-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 Steps to Reproduce: 1. sudo urpmi libreoffice-langpack-fr-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 2. rpm -qa | grep libreoffice libreoffice-core-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-opensymbol-fonts-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-java-common-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-ure-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-langpack-fr-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 I corrected that by: 1. sudo urpmi libreoffice 2. rpm -qa | grep libreoffice libreoffice-pdfimport-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-core-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-calc-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-presenter-screen-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-opensymbol-fonts-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-writer-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-graphicfilter-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-java-common-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-impress-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-math-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-draw-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-ure-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-base-3.4.3.2-2.mga2 libreoffice-langpack-fr-3.4.3.2-2.mga2

why should the langpack requires "all" apps ? this would make the installation of only math or writer impossible or only untranslated. maybe then we should chance Requires into suggests in libreoffice main package.

Pinging, because nothing has happened with this report for more than 3 months, it still has the status NEW or REOPENED. @ Claire Do you agree? (I'm not sure I understand what D Morgan proposes, but since you're a packager, you might understand better :) )

Some langpacks requires the applications: firefox (eg: firefox-fr requires firefox), thunderbird, squirrelmail, freeswitch, calligra (only core is required), celtx Others do not: xmltv-grabbers-XX, abiword-docs-XX in LO case, as Dexter pointed out, this would make impossible to install LO translated without installing everything. We could do the same as calligra, make libreoffice-XX requires libreoffice-core...
