Description papoteur 2011-12-02 20:40:10 CET
Description of problem:
For installing a printer from MCC, some packages are required including system-config-printer, task-printing-server and task-printing-hp.
But the package system-config-printer does not exist. There is system-config-printer-libs and-udev which are already installed.
the command:
ps aux | grep system-config-printer
gives:
root 3178 0.0 0.1 4316 756 pts/0 S+ 20:19 0:00 grep --color system-config-printer

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Mageia2 alpha1 DVD i586

How reproducible:
At installation, with LXDE and light WMs

Which mirror are you using? The package is available in
ftp://twiska.zarb.org/mageia/distrib/cauldron/i586/media/core/release/system-config-printer-1.3.6-1.mga2.i586.rpm

Use "urpmq --list-url" to determine which mirror is being used.

Here the repo :
urpmq --list-url
core media /mnt/Mageia-2-alpha1-i586-DVD/i586/media/core
Core Updates (distrib1) rsync://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/cauldron/i586/media/core/updates
Nonfree Updates (distrib2) rsync://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/cauldron/i586/media/nonfree/updates
Tainted Updates (distrib3) rsync://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/cauldron/i586/media/tainted/updates

The core media is a point where the iso is mounted.

Some complement:
urpmq system-config-printer
Pas de paquetage nommé system-config-printer
Les paquetages suivants contiennent system-config-printer : system-config-printer-libs, system-config-printer-udev

You have only the update reposity, add the core and it should work.

Have you add yourself them, or the installer ? LiveCD ?, Dvd ?

I have installed from the DVD iso, on the HD.
I reconfigured the core link to local iso manually, because it refered to an directory in /tmp/ which is no more present.

With a good configuration from repo, the problem is solved.
Thank you very much.
