Description of problem: In Mageia 2 Alpha 1 (minimal install), after adding official repositories and trying to install something, one might encounter "...retrieving failed: rsync is missing". This will happen if a rsync-based mirror is chosen by URPMI. Probably rsync should be installed automatically without any regard to the installation scenario. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 2 Alpha 1 How reproducible: If you are lucky to have rsync-based mirror chosen by URPMI Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Mageia 2 Alpha 1 from ISO; choose "Custom" installation, uncheck all boxes 2. urpmi.addmedia --distrib --mirrorlist 3. try to install something
As you have make a minimal installation, not sure we can add one more dependance.. Thierry, what d you think ?
CC: (none) => thierry.vignaudSummary: Rsync is not installed by default in Mageia 2 Alpha 1 => Rsync is not installed by defaultSource RPM: (none) => meta-task
Since that could happen, we could either add a suggest rsync tag to urpmi or alter the mirror choice by ignoring rsync if not installedfgrep setfacl /lib/udev/rules.d /etc/udev/
Just fixed
