Description of problem: Plymouth is not stopped when kdm is used; X starts on vt8 and plymouth still runs on vt7 (and plymouthd eats CPU). This happens since initscripts 9.34; previously plymouth was stopped by /etc/X11/prefdm. In recent initscripts, Fedora removed the "plymouth quit" for kdm because they patched kdm to stop plymouth. http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=kdebase-workspace.git;a=blob;f=kdebase-workspace-4.4.92-kdm_plymouth081.patch;h=2c49ccd48098717885a09c1829997b6728a162ce;hb=HEAD but this patch was not accepted upstream for now, kde bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206089 so, we can either add "plymouth_quit=yes" for kdm in prefdm, or patch our kdm like fedora.
