Description of problem: The installation from an iso DVD creates a system which does not have Hal installed. When the system is booted, no hald is running - which creates problems Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 2 Alpha 1 installer (iso i586 dvd) How reproducible: always, also observed by other users Steps to Reproduce: 1. Do a KDE install from an iso DVD 2. immediately after the first boot do "rpm -qa | grep hal" Hal is not installed Workaround: prior to the install, download Hal and the 8 dependencies from a cauldron mirror. Immediately after the initial boot, install these packages with rpm and re-boot.
This is not an installer bug. If the installer doesn't install hal, this is because none of the installed packages requires it. What's more, hal is supposed to die. If that causes issues with some packages, then it's a package bug since it doesn't work without hal. Please fill the RPM package field with the name of the affected packages and describe your actual issues
