Created attachment 15126 [details] List of packages For mozjs102 include test if polkit works without issues Chris Denice please look if you can test that ceph still works after update the packages that requires that were rebuilded in this stage ["boost", "harfbuzz", "xfsprogs"] For python-icu we need to test gramps and others
Thanks for the head-up. Go for it, it is unlikely that ceph will be affected. Plus, Cauldron uses a completely different version. If there a required ceph update for mga9, I'll fix build issues anyway.

Installed gramps and opened one of my familytrees, works OK. Followed bug 15467 to setup 389-admin: # setup-ds-admin.pl ============================================================================== This program will set up the 389 Directory and Administration Servers. It is recommended that you have "root" privilege to set up the software. Tips for using this program: - Press "Enter" to choose the default and go to the next screen - Type "Control-B" then "Enter" to go back to the previous screen - Type "Control-C" to cancel the setup program Would you like to continue with set up? [yes]: ============================================================================== Choose a setup type: 1. Express Allows you to quickly set up the servers using the most common options and pre-defined defaults. Useful for quick evaluation of the products. 2. Typical Allows you to specify common defaults and options. 3. Custom Allows you to specify more advanced options. This is recommended for experienced server administrators only. To accept the default shown in brackets, press the Enter key. Choose a setup type [2]: 1 And then followed the dialogues with success. # systemctl -l status dirsrv-admin.service ● dirsrv-admin.service - 389 Administration Server. couchdb clean install and still fail like bug#29548 comment#4
On Comment 17 : yes, that is the list I used.
couchdb has been released in bug29548 on clean install, so I would say that this should not block this update, if that is the only problem remaining. Agree??

As all the package were built with icu 73 with security patch I think this & icu should be pushed together

Any package still depending on icu72 is now potentially vulnerable to CVE-2025-5222 (bug 34442). We can submit the tested packages in more than one batch to speed up getting them into users' hands. Can we push those that are ready to go now then open another bug for the rest? Note that there is already bug 34665 open for a second batch of packages, but we can create more batches if it accelerates getting these security fixes into users' hands.

As some packages in batch N+1 depend on packages of batch N, I not think we should Hurry up to make the other batches but let me know what you think
This makes me think of the Grand Update of Plasma in Mageia 6 - except it's even more confusing. Some packages are ready (I think) others are not, and won't be until more are rebuilt. It feels like a big mess. I hope someone can get it straightened out soon.

In my opinion the packages of this stage can be pushed I was using before my issues with my system and I am using enough of them right now without issues. Not issues were reported with the packages that depend on these packages after the update. But I understand if you want to wait to the last stage

I appreciate all your hard work on this, and are trusting your judgement. Validating.

I've changed the advisory title to say "icu" since it was very generic otherwise.
An update for this issue has been pushed to the Mageia Updates repository. https://advisories.mageia.org/MGAA-2025-0089.html
