After updating nvidia-current in https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34499 three new bugs emerged (https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34511, https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34512 and https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34514) about vulkan and steam no longer working, and some crash on resume. All these bugs new bus were fixed with the release of nvidia-current-570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree.

No installation issues. I used it for about an hour for this and that, with no issues. That's about all the testing I can do, and it seems OK on this hardware. I don't use suspend/hibernate on this hardware, as I didn't set it up with enough swap space for that. I have never used steam. And my usage never turned up any bugs with the last version, so I couldn't say if they were fixed.

Suspend/Hibernate and games on steam went well, no problem. With 570.172.08-2.mga9 driver these were broken. Games freeze at startup and restore from Suspend results in a black screen, even no reaction to keyboard. Installed 570.172.08-3.mga9 packages with XFdrake. - suspend/hibernate now now functions well - games on steam also function well

(In reply to Thomas Andrews from comment #2) > I don't use suspend/hibernate on this hardware, as I didn't set it up with > enough swap space for that. Well, suspend do not use swap. Hibernate only use what is needed, so for just testing, even for Plasma 2 GB at least used to be more than enough for hibernating a fresh session with only a couple small applications. Like boot, login, open a terminal and type something, hibernate. If it do not have enough space it will abort going into hibernation.
Installed and tested without issue. This system normally runs with DRM modeset disabled, due to previous versions having issues with the virtual console being blank, and also suspend issues. I tested with both modeset disabled and enabled, and this driver update improved on the mentioned issues. The virtual console works and the suspend works. Curiously, suspend with modeset enabled is slower with the lock screen being unresponsive for a few seconds after the system wakes from suspend. Overall, this update is a significant improvement with no significant issues noticed. Tested for three hours of laptop usage. Tested: - Plasma DE effects; - glxgears (OpenGL); - vkcube (Vulkan); - glmark2; - Firefox plus WegGL examples; - mplayer vdpau video decoding; - suspend (including closing lid); All ok. No functionality issues. $ uname -a Linux saturno 6.6.93-desktop-1.mga9 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Jun 4 15:23:13 UTC 2025 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ rpm -qa | grep '570.172.08-3' | sort dkms-nvidia-current-570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree nvidia-current-cuda-opencl-570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree nvidia-current-devel-570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree nvidia-current-doc-html-570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree nvidia-current-utils-570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree x11-driver-video-nvidia-current-570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-modset-off.conf options nvidia-drm modeset=0 $ inxi -SMCGN System: Host: saturno Kernel: 6.6.93-desktop-1.mga9 arch: x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: KDE Plasma v: 5.27.10 Distro: Mageia 9 Machine: Type: Laptop System: FUJITSU product: CELSIUS H780 v: N/A serial: <superuser required> Mobo: FUJITSU model: FJNBB5D v: 757383-01R9800096 serial: <superuser required> UEFI: FUJITSU // Insyde v: Version 1.21 date: 09/14/2022 CPU: Info: 6-core model: Intel Core i7-8750H bits: 64 type: MT MCP cache: L2: 1.5 MiB Speed (MHz): avg: 800 min/max: 800/4100 cores: 1: 800 2: 800 3: 800 4: 800 5: 800 6: 800 7: 800 8: 800 9: 800 10: 800 11: 800 12: 800 Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA GP107GLM [Quadro P600 Mobile] driver: nvidia v: 570.172.08 Device-2: Chicony Integrated Camera driver: uvcvideo type: USB Display: x11 server: X.org v: 1.21.1.8 with: Xwayland v: 22.1.9 driver: X: loaded: nvidia,v4l gpu: nvidia,nvidia-nvswitch resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz API: EGL v: 1.5 drivers: nvidia, swrast platforms: gbm,x11,surfaceless,device API: OpenGL v: 4.6.0 compat-v: 4.5 vendor: nvidia mesa v: 570.172.08 renderer: Quadro P600/PCIe/SSE2 API: Vulkan v: 1.3.231 drivers: nvidia, llvmpipe surfaces: xcb, xlib Network: Device-1: Intel Cannon Lake PCH CNVi WiFi driver: iwlwifi Device-2: Intel Ethernet I219-LM driver: e1000e

All tests seems working fine (including further report in bugs #34511, #34512 and #34514). Validating?
(In reply to Giuseppe Ghibò from comment #7) > All tests seems working fine (including further report in bugs #34511, > #34512 and #34514). Validating? All the comments are positive in this and the other bug reports, including my comment above, so my vote is yes, validate.
You're in luck. I've gone on vacation, but I took my laptop with me, so I can validate.
