Version 128.11.0 fails to build for i586 for Mageia 9, probably because of the timeout, and I have no idea why it takes so long.

Does it still give an error when compiling?

> Does it still give an error when compiling?

Yes and if my last try fails I'll suggest to release just for x86_64 and aarch64
until we can find what happen, one of my guess is the last update of nodejs bug#34278
Comment 5 Morgan Leijström 2025-06-19 18:20:55 CEST
I think we should for now skip this for the failing architecture(s) in order to get the security update to most users. Both FF and TB is widely in use.

Then immediately keep trying fixing the problem for next version.

On x86_64, i7 870 CPU, Plasma X11 I have been running them with previous FF and TB since jun 4, no problem noted.

Yes they should be tested on i586 with current FF as we now for i586 release nss but not FF nor TB.

MGA9-64 Plasma on an HP Pavilion 15. Checked tracking on a package, Facebook, two weather forecasts, long range weather forecasts (continued warmer and wetter than normal. Sigh.), downloaded a copy of today's newspaper, and this report.

No issues so far.

MGA9 - i586 nss OK with our current Mozilla Firefox 128.10.1esr

Surfed around a bit, listened to pod, watched a video (not up to speed, slow drivers, years since it worked on this machine)

We must avoid to ship the i586 firefox 128.11 internationalisation packages currently in i586 updates testing repo !

Could be too late, I don't know how the BS works in these cases, but the build is finished for i586 and x86_64, aarch64 still building
Comment 20 Morgan Leijström 2025-06-24 06:32:32 CEST
Ah I was too tired, thought it also meant i586 did not get built.

OK lets QA firefox-128.11.0-1.1.mga9 in both i586 & x86_64 then :-)
when available.

For x86_64 now i assume we can now do minimal tests.

MGA9-64 Plasma. No installation issues, and seems to be working OK here. Thunderbird OK, as well.

In light of the release of a new Firefox, and several successful tests, giving this OKs and validating. Katnatek, if I am still premature, please make the necessary changes.

Dan I just want to confirm that you not move the lang packages here and thunderbird to armv7hl
Comment 31 Dan Fandrich 2025-06-25 18:32:18 CEST
I didn't do anything special for this move; if the packages were built, they were moved. If there are special requirements, they need to be clear in the last couple of comments. I only this very moment noticed the "Status comment" field, which I didn't realize was being used for this purpose. I'll keep and eye on that field in the future if you'll be using it.

I'll go ahead and "undo" the armv7hl moves of firefox and firefox-l10n packages.

Turns out there weren't any armv7hl firefox packages to move (I guess the issues in comment #17 were build issues and not testing issues) so all is well.

Not even the firefox-*-128.11.0-1.mga9.noarch.rpm

Thank you

This can break firefox for armvthl users?

I think the only thing that will happen is that the updater finds them and then complain to the user that there is no suitable update.

That was the status on i586 firefox before you compiled it.

So only nagging, the internationalisation packages will not be installed unless forced. Users will ask, but there are not many armv7 users, and probably thye understand what it is about.

It would have been many more user asking if the problem was on i586.

So, IMO, just let this rest, and issue will be solved when ff will again build on all arches.

Thomas if you are OK with comment 35, I'll close this again
Comment 37 Dan Fandrich 2025-06-25 21:43:39 CEST
I didn't notice that the firefox and firefox-l10n packages are different versions. I've moved the armv7hl packages back to updates_testing and am rebuilding the hdlists now.
Comment 38 Dan Fandrich 2025-06-25 22:15:07 CEST
The arm packages are now back out of updates.

I'm OK with it, and I see Dan has already taken care of it.

Let's all hope this gets resolved with the next FF update...
