Description Philippe Didier 2025-03-31 17:21:24 CEST
Description of problem:
3 useful opencpn plugins need to be updated since they have been improved upstream :
- opencpn-celestial-navigation-plugin (better coordinates for Moon an Venus, wider sight field , correction of planet parallax)
- opencpn-weather-routing-plugin (allow to use a wind stronger than the max allowed by the polar, allow a "start from boat" routing option ...)
- opencpn-weatherfax-plugin (wider display of the downloaded faxes)

If you don't know and use OpenCPN you may only verify that the updates are correctly done (installing the updated rpms removing the previous ones)
Comment 1 Philippe Didier 2025-03-31 17:31:39 CEST
Suggested advisory :

- opencpn-celestial-navigation-plugin-2.4.47.0-1
- opencpn-weather-routing-plugin-1.15.21.22-1
- opencpn-weatherfax-plugin-1.10.17.0-1
Have got improvements, useful for sailors using OpênCPN (a navigation chart plotter)

Comment 2 Philippe Didier 2025-03-31 17:35:40 CEST
NB I maintain and use and already tested these plugins ( I collaborate with their developers upstream )

I have verified that updating them is painless (particularly on an already installed and configured version of OpenCPN itself)

Comment 3 Herman Viaene 2025-04-01 16:05:23 CEST
MGA9-64 Plasma Wayland on Compaq H000SB
Installing these 3 plugins on top of the configuration tested in bug 34148.
Launched opencpn, opens OK.
So also good to go.
