Installing kdesvn, cervisia is offered as requirement. Cervisia is kde graphical CVS client, so i found odd this requirement. Anyway "googling" a bit i found: http://kdesvn.alwins-world.de/ticket/25 in which it seems that only cervisia icons are required. With the help of mikala we found: urpmq --wget -l kdesvn | grep png | wc -l 258 icons concerning kdesvn, maybe that dependency should be removed or cervisia package splitted to get only the icon dependency.
Hi, thanks for reporting this bug. Assigned to the package maintainer.

Ok I'll look into this tonight.
Status: NEW => ASSIGNED
Ok, 1.5.5-3 on cauldron removes requires for cervisia and adds suggests for kdiff3 and kompare as discussed on IRC today. Should this fix be sent to updates_testing ?
Juan, imo yes. Let me know when it is there, thanks.
Ok, pushed to updates_testing, it will be available soon.
Tested, the bug is fixed as far as i can say. Please reassign the bug to qa team to with an advisory test to make it available for updates.
Advisory: A not required dependency for kdesvn Subversion client was found, which was forcing the installation of unneeded packages. This update remove those unneeded dependencies.
Hi Juan Luis, If I might be so free, I'd reword the advisory a bit: An unrequired dependency for the kdesvn subversion client was found, which resulted in the installation of unneeded packages. This update remove those unneeded dependencies.

Testing complete in i586 for the srpm kdesvn-1.5.5-2.1.mga1.src.rpm I uninstalled cervisia, then installed kdesvn. It did not include cervisia. I then confirmed kdesvn works by starting it from the Development/Tools menu entry, and used Subversion/General/Checkout a repository to get a copy of http://tortoisesvn.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ to a new directory on my hard drive. Juan, are you using i586 or x86-64?

Dave (comment #10) my test was done using x86_64 arch.
(In reply to comment #11) > Dave (comment #10) my test was done using x86_64 arch. Thanks. Validating the update. Could someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm kdesvn-1.5.5-2.1.mga1.src.rpm from Core Updates Testing to Core Updates. Advisory: An unrequired dependency for the kdesvn subversion client was found, which resulted in the installation of unneeded packages. This update remove those unneeded dependencies. https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3399
