Hello I've bought an HP Smart Tank 5105 printer, but it needs hplip >= 3.23 to work properly. Mageia 9: Kernel version: 6.6.43-desktop-1.mga9 (64-bit) Currently hplip 3.22.10 rev 4.1 mga9 Could we upgrade to a more recent version of hplip?
We have hplip-3.24.4-2.mga10 in cauldron, I assume it is possible to update hplip in Mageia 9 to hplip-3.24.4, too, or else to push hplip-3.24.4 to Mageia 9 backports. Assigning to all packagers collectively.

The 3.24.4 release adds support for a LOT of new printers. See https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/release_notes

The latest hplip release is 3.25.2, adding support for even more printers: https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/release_notes Already we are getting a request on the qa-discuss ML asking for 2.24.4 to support an HP Officejet Pro 8130e all-in-one printer. The user is going to try to install 3.25.2 from the hplip website using instructions written for Mandriva 2010. I wish him luck, but chances of success would be better if we provided the update for him.
Upping this a bit. -Printers are pretty important for real users...
