Description Frank Griffin 2024-07-09 21:32:59 CEST
As the summary says, once TERM has been sent, it takes osspd several minutes to end, and systemd reboot/poweroff waits for it. It does eventually end and the system shuts down, but this timeout is ridiculous. Messages saying that it is waiting for the osspd PID to end are issued.

This has been happening at least since when MGA9 was cauldron.

Thank you for the report.

Summary : OSS (Open Sound System) Proxy Daemon
Description :
OSS Proxy Daemon is Linux userland OSS sound device (/dev/[a]dsp
and /dev/mixer) implementation using CUSE. Currently it supports
forwarding OSS sound streams to PulseAudio and ALSA.

Clearly this problem is not affecting many people; just those using oss?
Ossp itself has not changed for years.

This may warrant an ERRATA entry if it cannot be resolved.
