Description of problem: Since the end of last week kopete is unable to connect to MSN. The problem lies on libmsn and there's a patch available which I have already tested and it works. This report is more for QA to test the libmsn package I'm going to send to updates_testing for mga1 :) Relevant upstream bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285803 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): libmsn 4.1 beta1 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure a WLM account on kopete 2. Try to connect using that account 3. See how it stays on "connecting" and a connection error message when kopete os closed.

Ok here it goes: An error has been found in libmsn library used by Kopete Instant Messaging Application, in the way SOAP redirects where handled which was preventing Windows Live Messenger users from logging into their accounts. The updated package have been patched to correct this issue.
We still need an x86-64 test for kopete/libmsn.
I tested on x86_64 if it's worth for you.
Yes. I'll go ahead and validate the update. Can someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm libmsn-4.1-5.1.mga1.src.rpm from Core Updates Testing to Core Updates Advisory: An error has been found in the libmsn library used by the Kopete Instant Messaging Application, in the way SOAP redirects were handled which was preventing Windows Live Messenger users from logging into their accounts.
