Description of problem: When attempting to set up a partition for use with Mageia, if the partition is pre-formed, but not formatted, choosing first " mount point" and selecting "/", results in an error advising that "this mount point can only be used with file system type....... " if you then set "type" to a fstype, and the choose again "mount point" "/", the selection is allowed. Changing the order of these two entries would put them into a logical order. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1.create a non formatted partition 2.using diskdrake / MCC, in expert mode, attempt to set it for a "/" partition. 3.
This seems like a philosophical hen/egg discussion. chose filesystem->chose mount point or chose mount point->chose filesystem Many third party tools and other linux distribution installers, require first a decision for the filesystem. AFTER you know which filesystem you want you can chose the mount point...

If as Ben says, following the order of presentation, you choose the mount point for an unformatted partition before defining its FS type, you get an error; and it is just a question of reversing the order of the two parameters to avoid this (although you could still force the error in practice by setting mount point before FS type against their presented order); and that this is an enhancement request; passing it on.
