Created attachment 14388 [details] Part of journal, when launching MSW7 guest using VB7.0.14 on kernel-dektop-6.6.16-4 with dkms built kmod. ( Created from Bug 31695 Comment 64 + ) This is upstream, we can not fix this - just tracking it here for reference. Valid for VirtualBox versions 7.0.12, 7.0.14, and kernel 6.6 At first launch of guest system there comes a warning in journal, i.e kernel: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 168789 at /var/lib/dkms/virtualbox/7.0.14-1.mga9/build/vboxdrv/r0drv/linux/memobj-r0drv-linux.c:564 rtR0MemObjLinuxApplyPageRange+0x67/0xa0 [vboxdrv] __Upstream reports__ https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=110706 https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/21964 https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/21952
The guest seem to work fine for my usage, except i feel there is a bit delay at start. What problems to look out for? If problems, i think users could try kernel 6.5 (knowing it lack latest security updates.)

The other URLs say no impact on usage, so this is one of those cosmetic errors. I do not see Cauldron versions, so have put in latest M9 VB version; Assigning to kernel/drivers who normally field VB problems, even though this is upstream. But it is related to a kernel update.

https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_9_Errata#Virtualization_software Massaged into other text about VirtualBox which in total got shorter.

There is a version with a patch for this, here: https://download.copr.fedorainfracloud.org/results/ghibo/mageia9-bonus/mageia-9-x86_64/07028663-virtualbox/ It should solve the problems above.

Also with 6.6.17-1.mga9.
I verified i see it too with kernel-desktop-6.6.17-1.mga9. Then i updated VirtualBox according to Comment 4: virtualbox-7.0.14-1.1.mga9.x86_64 dkms-virtualbox-7.0.14-1.1.mga9.x86_64 Reboot, test: i do not see the warning issue: OK. As the problem dos not seem to cause any harm, i think we need not ship an update for this only.
A patch for is actually included in cauldron's virtualbox (but not in mga9, as of comment #6).
