Running MSW 7 64 bit guest: it detected it needed new guest addition - i let it download, update, reboot. All OK: dynamic window resizing, USB 2 flash disk, host folder sharing write protected and not, bidirectional clipboard, drag file from Dolphin to Explorer, Internet video in Firefox, Windows update.

Now additionally on same system have tested the MSW7 guest works OK using our last released desktop and linus kernels in host, this with nvidia-current driver from updates_testing, and this driver now also with kernel 6.6.11-desktop-1.

Limites testing to just see guest looks OK incl playing internet videos in Firefox.

Advisory based on comment 0 added to SVN. Please remove the "advisory" keyword if it needs to be changed. It also helps when obsolete advisories are tagged as "obsolete"

MGA9-64 Plasma, running under the nvidia-current candidate.

No installation issues. Trying to insert guest additions in Windows 7 with the gui failed, but downloading and manually putting the iso in the optical drive worked as expected. After the reboot, the Win7 guest functioned as normally as a Win7 guest can function.

A Mga9-64 Plasma guest also worked well, once the guest additions were updated.

Looks good here.

Ran some other guests - 32-bit Xfce, 64-bit Lxqt, 64-bit Gnome. Updated guest additions in each with no issues. Rebooted each, checked for shared folders in each, Tried a web browser in each, turned VPN on and back off in Gnome. Everything worked well.

I think this can go on. Kmods for the 6.6 series kernel will be a part of the kernel bug(s).

Validating.
